It was my first time to have a road trip with my friends from Visayas-Luzon. It was an enormous trip. We left our place (Iloilo City) at around 12mn and we arrived in Metro Manila by 7 in the evening. Imagine? You were sitting for 19 hours? It was really a burn in your ass, but it was fun. Because you happen to see different sights.
Actually for most people in our place the trip was called Ro-Ro it means Roll on – Roll off. From Iloilo City (visayas) going to Caticlan by land it will take you 4-5 hours. And from Caticlan your car will be place in a big boat going to Roxas, Mindoro it will take you about 4 hours. And from Roxas, Mindoro you have to travel by land going to Calapan, Mindoro and it will take you about 2 hours (by land). From Calapan, Mindoro you have to cross going to Batanggas, again your car will be placed in a big boat and you will travel for 2 and a half hours. And from Batanggas (by land) going to Metro Manila it will take you about 5-6 hours including the traffic in the big city. For us, it took us 19 hours including stop over.
If you have plans for Ro-Ro, I suggest to bring along with you the following:
- Own Car with full tank gas.
- Jackets/Coats (for tagaytay)
- Food and Soda but I prefer water.
- Camera/Video Cam (souvenirs for the beautiful sights)
- Sunglasses.
- Swimming get up (for Puerto galera)
- And most of all enough MONEY!
